Coffee maker question…?

I was cleaning out my coffee maker and in the black tube that the water comes up through I found a filter with bead-like insides covered in a soft sort of muslin like material. It’s a bit moldy and I wanted to know if I just wash it or buy it new. If I do have to buy it, what is it called so I know what to get!

It sounds like some kind of inline filter. Go to the manufacturer’s website and look up your model. There should be a parts diagram that will tell you what it is and how to replace it.
